C We R Here Youth (CWRHY) is a provider of Supported Accommodation for Young People – specifically Looked After Children (LAC) aged 16+. The service was set up in February 2023 with the purpose of delivering bespoke, person-centered support for vulnerable young people who may have experienced disrupted childhoods, childhood trauma, and emotional and/or behavioral difficulties.
We strongly believe that frontline staff plays a key role in developing young people’s self-esteem, self-belief, and independence skills, and we do not underestimate the importance of working together with external professionals to strengthen CWRHY’s ability to better support young people who may be experiencing challenges around offending behavior, personal safety, and emotional and mental wellbeing.
Our support model is designed to provide a customised, consistent approach to safeguarding young people and developing their ability to look after themselves within our accommodation.
The aim of our service is to:
- Keep young people safe and promote their welfare;
- Encourage social inclusion by supporting young people to access and engage in appropriate education, training, and employment, thereby also increasing their employability, financial independence, and understanding, and preventing the risk of future homelessness;
- Build young people’s resilience by supporting them to access relevant mental and emotional health services such as Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS);
- Work with a multi-agency team to implement and regularly review risk management strategies to combat the challenges young people face, and steer young people towards a more stable future, free of criminality; and
- Support Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Children (UASC) with their integration into the community and with their asylum application.
- Develop young people’s independence through the effective delivery and measurement of targeted key working sessions and dynamics we are committed to improving the outcomes for all our young people and providing the right help at the right time, in line with Working Together to Safeguard Children Guidance 2018 and the more recent Working Together to Safeguard Children Statutory Framework.
